From "An Artist's Journey with Wildlife Artist Anthony J. Padgett":
"I had a deer stand in a prime patch of woods. It gave me a lot of time to observe nature, as most deer hunting outings will. I was late one morning and hurried noisily to my stand. A dry hickory branch cracked below my foot which started a chain reaction. Off to my right, a deer cleared his nostrils, and I knew immediately that I was "busted." Turning instinctively toward the telltale sound, an antlered face vanished behind a raised white tail flagging in the underbrush. I sat there for several hours pretending not to think about my misfortune."
